Feeling inspired to choose artwork for your home? Great! To get you started, here are some things we think you should consider:

Size
Find that ‘Goldilocks’ artwork – not too big, not too small. You don’t want a tiny print to be swallowed up by a huge empty space, nor do you want a huge piece of artwork taking over a room. Don’t forget, you’ll have furniture and other items jostling for visual attention, too – so make sure you have an idea of the scale of your room before you buy.

Mixing and matching
Who says modern art and more traditional pieces can’t play nicely together, or photography with abstract prints? Be bold and get mixing!

Feelings
You’re probably going to be looking at this artwork for some time to come, especially if you’re on a home decorating budget! Make sure you pick pieces that make you feel something – ones you love to look at and won’t get tired of quickly. If you don’t feel something for a piece of art, maybe it’s not for you.

Cost
Think of a good piece of artwork is going to set you back hundreds or even thousands of dollars? Think again! Sure, you can invest in more expensive pieces – but you can also find some equally impressive and far cheaper options online, too. Etsy is a great place to start, with heaps of affordable artwork ideas that will add real personality to your home, without breaking the bank.
