The Best Northern Beaches in Perth

Did you know that there are more beaches in Western Australia than any other state?  WA really does have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and the best thing is you don’t have to drive too far to get to one. With Perth being stretched out across the coastline, there are many up and coming ‘coastal’ estates, and many of them are far north of the river in Perth.

Here are, in our humble opinions – The Best Northern Beaches in Perth, Western Australia:

1. Burns Beach

Burns Beach is a top favourite beach in northern Perth, due to its convenient distance from the City of Joondalup. This beach is very popular and hang gliding enthusiasts often come down to enjoy the stunning coastal views. Here marks one end of a coastal nature walk that extends to Fremantle, and there is also a cafe and restaurant with outdoor seating (as well as a BBQ and toilets).

2. Claytons Beach / Quinns Rocks

Very close to the Mindarie Keys Marina is Claytons Beach. Not far down is Quinns Rocks Beach, which is another popular beach in this area. White sands, crystal blue water, and sand dunes galore. This is a great beach to head to after having a bite to eat at Mindarie Keys Marina.

3. Alkimos Beach, Alkimos

You can enjoy direct beach access in Alkimos, with a masterplanned community located on the doorstep of 1.7km of pristine coastline for you to enjoy. Alkimos Beach also hosts the famous Alkimos Shipwreck, making the area a popular diving venue, particularly for ghost hunters.

4. Eden Beach, Jindalee

Eden Beach Estate is up and coming in Jindalee, located just 40kms north of Perth. The beach here stretches almost to Yanchep, with some parts being almost untouched and only accessible by sand tracks, making it luxuriously private if you enjoy at times having the beach just to yourself. There is beachfront development planning in Jindalee for a cafe/shopping node which is currently in the process of being approved.

5. Mullalloo Beach

Mullalloo Beach is one of the busiest northern beaches in Perth, due to landscaped parks, BBQ and picnic areas, a playground, the nearby Mullaloo Beach Hotel, Dome and other food options. The Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club patrols this area and as such Mullalloo Beach is a popular place of sporting and recreational activity.

6. Yanchep Beach / Two Rocks

Two rocks is an outer suburb at the northern edge of Perth – 61kms north of Perth CBD. The beaches from Yanchep to Two Rocks here are as you would expect – seemingly untouched, where you really do feel like you have the entire beach to yourself. The abandoned Atlantis Marine Park is also in the region, which is a popular area for budding photographers. There is a major shopping centre in Yanchep and established transport routes.
