In exciting news, eligible WA builders can now receive up to $55K* to put towards building their own homes thanks to the government’s newly announced building stimulus schemes. For many home builders in the South West, including first home buyers, this will open up a world of new possibilities.
Read on to find out more about the scheme and whether you’re eligible.
How it works
In addition to the federal government’s recently unveiled $25,000 HomeBuilder grants, the West Australian government has announced that WA builders will also be eligible to access an additional $20,000 to put towards new home construction. These new stimulus schemes will complement existing grants and concessions, such as the $10,000 First Home Owners Grant.
The HomeBuilder Grant and WA Building Bonus scheme are time limited and are currently only being offered between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020.
Our team has the knowledge and expertise to help you find the best opportunities and land options in the South West. Don’t miss out - get in touch with us about building your own home today.
Am I eligible to receive the grants?
The building stimulus grants are not limited to first home builders. If you’re a second home builder or even a third home builder in WA you can still access the HomeBuilder and Building Bonus schemes.
Whilst the federal government’s $25K HomeBuilder Grant requires the cost of new homes to be under $750K, the $20K WA Building Bonus has no cap on purchase prices.
To receive HomeBuilder you will need to be earning less than $125K p/a if you’re single, or less than a $200K combined p/a if you’re a couple. There are no income caps for those applying for the WA Building Bonus. Eligible applicants can apply for both grants, First Home Buyers can also still qualify for the $10K First Home Owners Grant.
